In 2004 Anton Tantner defended a dissertation about the history of the
census and house numbering in the Habsburg monarchy, and in 2012 a
"Habilitation thesis" about the history of intelligence offices in early
modern Europe.
Apart from house numbers and intelligence offices his
research interests include the prehistory of search engines, techniques of
order and new media in historical sciences. For a detailed list of his
